OTHER EUSTACE
FAMILIES AND THEIR LOCATIONS TO PRESENT
The 1901 Clare Census
shows the migration pattern of the Eustace families who originated in Kilmihil
and Kilrush. The familial connections are less clear. In the Census, the
following Eustace families are found in these Townlands:
In
Mullagh, Cloghaunatinny, Parish of Kilmurry Ibrickan, Bridget Eustace age
40 is living with her children Michael 20, Maurice 18, Patrick 15, and Bridget
8. This family might be related to the Breaffa, Parish of Kilmurry Eustace
family mentioned in Kilmihil Generation I.
In
the Index to Biographical Notices 1935-1985, there is a news item listed for
Maurice Eustace on September 9, 1939 in Clohanatine, Mullagh.
In
Rinealon, Shannakea More, Parish of Kilfiddane, is John Eustace 60 and
single. John’s nephew, Patrick age 34 and single and John’s niece, Bridget
Ronan, live with him. Mary Eustace age 85, widowed with dementia is living with
the Ronan family in the Townland of Effernan, Parish of Kilfiddane. In Killofin
Parish in the Townland of Lakyle North, there were two small Eustace children,
John and Agnes age 4 and 3 respectively. They are living with the Malone
family. There may be a connection between these two families. According to the
1920 Ellis Island record, Mary Catherine Eustace age 25 leaves Shannakea More to
visit her aunt, Agnes Eustace Webb in Anacostia, Washington, DC USA. It
is likely that this Agnes is the same Agnes in the 1901 Census.
The
Index for Biographical Notices 1935-1986 lists the following marriages in
Erribul, Shannakea: James Eustace married May 18, 1984; John Eustace married
June 8, 1973; John Eustace married July 20, 1973. In Cahircon, Kildysart the
following obituaries: Michael who died in December of 1985; Micko who died
January 17, 1986; and Patrick who died June 30, 1951. From Ravrageen, Kildysart
and New York, John Eustaces death is noted on January 25, 1985 in the index.
The
same source lists the obituary for Patrick Eustace from Ennis who died November
9, 1984; and the marriage of Mary Eustace in Carnisky January 23, 1987.
