According to relatives the terrible tragedy which snuffed out the lives of 8 persons occurred when they were returning home from a dance. The car in which Mr. and Mrs. Applehoff and two other couples were riding stopped to give assistance to a stalled machine. Thinking to lighten the weight of their car and make it less difficult to push the standing vehicle, two passengers were transferred to the latter car. The 2 passenger cars were completely demolished.
